Up for sale is this vintage Midowatch counter top display advertising robot. The robot is made of wood and has a copy of a Mido powerwind watch inhis stomach. He measures about 22” highand 9” across at the arms. The clockmeasures 5 ½” across. This robot waspurchased at a local estate sale of a pharmacist. He was probably displayed in his store. He has a sticker on his back which indicateshe was designed and manufactured by Copeland Display...s Inc. 537 W 53rd. St. NewYork, 19 NY (I am not sure what the 19 represents). He appears to be all original but hassuffered over the years. His right armis bolted at the shoulder (not sure if that is original. It is also glued just above the wrist. He leans forward when standing on hisown. Both his legs have been reglued atthe hips. He has a slat of wood and ametal bracket on one foot to get him to stand. He was probably bolted to a countertop. He is missing the back plate on the clock which still works (although noguarantee it will continue to do so). Theclock is slightly turned as 12 o’clock is not directly on top. The clock illuminates in the dark! He has a narrow piece of cardboard stapled tothe back of one leg. I think at leastmost of his paint is original although he has been repainted at the hips anddown the legs. This robot is being soldas is and any sale will be final.
