Original Description:
Brass, bronze and teak Marine Sextant. Includes several tubes w/ eyepieces. Mechanically in very good order - all movable parts and threaded pieces function. See pics for markings on scales. Two colored filters are broken, reflective mirror material is disintegrated, pendulum viewer has been soldered and worked on, a stripped screw in main mirror mount, but have the screw, scale rubbed and worn. Small tight crack in teak handle. Brass oval frame is in wonderful condition but it and oth...er brass parts covered in a solvent removable coating - perhaps paint. Box is tight and basically intact. Lock works. This instrument is fit for restoration and seems to have all the original hardware: Assortment of scopes and tubes make up at least one set, including an extra pendulum viewer, that has not been worked on, but has no eye piece and a slightly different design. Will pack carefully and get it to you in good order.
