This very early wax over paper mache doll is absolutely wonderful. She is a chubby girl and has that round "pumpkin" head with blue paperweight eyes that appear to be side glancing. Her facial features are soft with slight brows that match the shade of her amazing wig which is securely attached. I'm not sure if the wig is mohair or human hair but WOW it is amazing with a full center part and slight curls along the hairline. What a rare treat to have these amazing braids! She measures 2...1 inches tall. I find that she is in such wonderful condition for her age. I can imagine this heirloom being stowed away in Grandma's trunk for many many years. I did undress her down to her very pretty chemise to try and get a better look at her body which is in great condition. I don't see any damage to the body or repairs. The chemise is buttoned in the back and seems fragile so I didn't want to unbutton it. Her face has overall cracking, there is some cracking to her shoulder plate. There is what appears to be some wax "filler around the neck in areas that may be a type of restoration. I purchased her years ago from a reputable dealer and am letter her go for so much less.
