Up for auction is this beautiful West German brass ship's bell clock by Schatz. It is an 8 day, 11 jewel movement with the bells chiming and clock quietly ticking away. The brass case, face, and glass are in excellent condition, and it comes with the key and a printed copy of the ship's Bell code and explanation, in case you don't know about it. The bells strike based on the 24 hour "watches" onboard the ship not the hours of the day. Th...ere is a switch on the clock face to silence the bells and a speed adjusment screw also. The case is polished and lacquered without and scratches and is about 7" across the back by 3 3/4" deep. I do not know the age, but "Made in West Germany" gives some indication of the era. The face reads Schatz 1881 Royal Mariner and at the very bottom Made is West Germany. The clock will be packed with utmost care and shipped via Priority Mail.
