PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING. SELLING A LARGE PORTION OF MY ROBOT COLLECTION!
THIS IS A FIVE DAY AUCTION!
Up for auction is a beautiful 1960s tin wind-up MECHANICAL TELEVISION SPACEMAN ROBOT with BOX! This Robot was made in Japan around the late 1960s. I purchased him at a toy convention back in the early 1980s and placed him inside a glass case where he's been on display for over 30 years.
This MECHANICAL TELEVISION SPACEMAN ROBOT is ...roughly 6.5 inches tall, or 7.5 inches tall with his antenna. He still works perfectly after all these years. Wind him up and he walks forward by having pins come from the bottom by his feet, his antenna will spin, and his TV picture will rotate.
Robot is in great cosmetic shape and has very little play wear. The paint and images on his body and face are in great condition; nice and glossy. The rotating image in his chest is also in perfect shape. Spaceman is made mostly of tin, but his arms and feet are made of plastic. Antenna is original. He has a "made in Japan" on the back of his left leg. The only issue is that there is a crack in the back of his red plastic feet, and the crack goes underneath to the bottom of the red feet. Please look closely at all of the photos. The crack does not detract from the robot, and the feet are still held together well by the metal tabs on the bottom. Robot has no "dents", just a few tiny "nicks".
The box is all original. There is some wear on the box at the corners, but the box lid is still in pretty good shape for its age. The top left corner is split, but the box still holds together well. Box colors are pretty bright and clear, and would display nicely. To place robot in his box, his antenna must be removed and his arms are folded up.
