Glasgow School Brass Candle Sconce. This hand beaten Arts and Crafts piece is approximately 36cm / 14 inches high. Very much in the manner of Peter Wylie Davidson c.1900 (so I'm told) No makers marks. The candle holders look as though they have been soldered to the tray, I think they were originally held to the tray by 2 tiny lugs through pierced holes. there is only 1 lug remaining on each of the holders. There is a tiny split to one of the wired rim corners of the tray, hardly notice...able but I'm pointing it out for the sake of accuracy.
The piece is a little rough around the edges but overall the condition is good for its age., it displays really well. It could do with a good polish but I will leave that up to the lucky buyer. The piece has been in our family for over 40 years. I'm no expert, so please study the images carefully and only bid if you are satisfied with what you are bidding on. THANKS FOR LOOKING!
