This stunning Native American handmade Turquoise, Spiny Oyster, Sugilite..., Lapis, Clam Shell, and Sterling silver bracelet was created by Navajo Dine' artist Melvin Francis. At least TWENTY-EIGHT stones and shells create a gorgeous cobble stone design. The thick and HEAVY shank PRECISELY HAND STAMPED AND CHISELED. Silver tabs draw together and strengthen the terminals. What a HIGH QUALITY SENSATIONAL bracelet!! This wonderful bracelet is actually from my Moms collection and has a retail value of well over $1000. MELVIN FRANCIS (NAVAJO DINE') is a very well-known contemporary silversmith. His style is simple yet elegant silverwork with colorful stones. He does many kinds of silver work including overlay and traditional stampwork. He gives credit to his father, Ted Francis, as his teacher. He comes from a family of artists: He is related to Fred Francis, a silversmith (uncle), Myrtle Francis (sister), Marlynn Francis (sister), weaver Melvina Francis (sister), weaver Erma Francis (mother), and weaver Anna Clyde (aunt). Collaborates with lapidary Eugene Chee.
