Free Shipping! $60 Reserve on this item Vintage police badge in the shape of a star, just over 3” across at the points of the star. Assuming that the number 9 at center means it was issued to a specific officer? I have no idea when this badge was made/used, but it certainly has some age to it. Fairly heavy, but type of metal unknown - possibly white brass? The impressed letters appear to be painted, and there’s some flaking to the paint as shown. It was inside the leather case and ...pouch when I bought it, and appears to have been in there for years. The maker’s name appears on reverse as seen in photos: “Irvine & Jachens S. F.” ( San Francisco?) The other mark appears to be a union stamp for the International Jewelry Worker’s Union No. 64. I don’t know if the leather pouch with drawstring and snap is original to the badge, but it does fit inside with the bag snapped shut. The bag has very faint stamped info on front “Compliments of / Bank of Burlingame / Burlingame Calif. “ I don’t have any history on this item - it was found in a central California storage locker. Wondering if this was for an officer assigned to the bank? Please read full listing and view photos with care: no returns except as stated in Terms below. CONDITION: in overall nice condition - please take a close look at photos. Some missing paint on lettering, lots of built-up green tarnish or gunk on front and back. Seems to be mostly where it was in contact with the leather case or holder. The badge does have light scuffs, fine scratches, and a few longer and/or deeper obvious scratches - consistent with being in use for some years. The pinback seems to work fine. The snaps on the holder still work and stitching around edge is intact.
