This is the first of Michael’s top three model kits: Sankyo Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero Fighter Type 52model kit (#M-4-500). 1/30 scale. This kit was issued in the 1960’s and is notincluded in any of the John Burns model kit guides (The Collectors Value Guide7th Edition 1999, Plastic WW2 Aircraft Kits 1993) nor in theMasayuki Hiratsuka “The 20th Century Airplane Plastic Model Encyclopedia”2004. This is a beautiful large-scale motorizedplastic kit with... a clear fuselage half and other parts molded in dark green, blackyellow, red and clear plastic. Parts are contained in four plastic bags, two withthe original header cards. It is assumed that the kit is complete. The clearfuselage half is visible in the bag with the dark green parts. Also included is a Mabuchi #13 motor withmounting bracket, pinion gears and box. Japanese instructions. The planehas not been assembled or painted. Thebox is in very good condition with no rips, tears or split corners but there issome minor edgewear on the boxtop below the “Made in Japan.” Beautiful Masano (?) boxart with brightcolors. This kit is rarely seen in the United States and certainly not in asexcellent and complete condition. Thisis the only example of this kit that I have seen in my 45 years of collectingplastic model kits. Shipping in the United States is via USPS Priority Mail.
