Rare Puce 1860s " C. E. KNUDSEN " Stunning Ribbon Seal Bottle
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:609525 | Country/Region of Manufacture: United States |
We're pleased to offer this extraordinary puce ribbon seal bottle. Found decades ago in San Francisco, California. Hand blown in a stunning orange/puce colored glass, circa 1860. Crude, highly whittled pristine glass, this is a beau...ty. Has a applied top and a deep concave re-fired pontil base. Size is 8-3/4" tall x 2-3/4" wide. Excellent, non cleaned original condition. No stains, chips, cracks, scratches, wear or nicks. It would be hard to improve upon, does not appear to be a dug bottle. May of once contained a cherry cordial. Not a lot is known about the history of this company, it may be Danish but not sure. I do know of one other that was also found in San Francisco many years ago. This is a beautiful rare bottle, in superb condition, no disappointments here!
