RARE FIND 1950s Vintage Sony TR - 6 Historical Transistor Radio
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:595414 | Modified Item: No |
Brand: Sony | Country/Region of Manufacture: Japan |
As for the Sony TR-6, this model is made from a very brittle plastic and is easy to break. This one has two chips and one hairline. One chip is in the bottom part of the left side of the radio, and the ot...her is in the top part of the right side. There is a long hairline from the left side of the loudspeaker to the corner in the lower left of the plastic case. These chips and hairline are all repaired and all the necessary repaires are made and no need to repair again. Even if there are such chips and hairline, the radio is still cosmetically in excellent condition, and makes a great collectible item, rare find. This radio was repaired in necessity minimum in order to keep historical values.
The radio operates on 4 AAA batter batteries - do not include batteries in this auction. I tested and it picks up many AM stations normally.Tuning knob and volume dial are crisp and clear. The radio has enough volume and the tone quality is clear for its age.Conditions of circuit board and histrical electronic component are excellent and are still working.Only one electrolytic capacitor is added to play the radio more stable. The capacitor is installed in the back of the circuit board, so it isn't seen from the surface. Has no corrosions around battery space.
The leather carrying belt is original but the belt degrades, and easy to break. The earphone output is working. (The earphone is not attached to this Auction.)
The radio is not fully restored because it is historically very valuable and to keep originality and respect it.I provide a number of photos for your inspection, Please look closely.
Thank you.
