This listing is for a fully functional vintage BATTERY OPERATED BARBER BEAR w/winky eyes as shown. It is in very good condition. Litho, tin, plush fur, clothing & plastic parts are nice with minimal wear. No corrosion. When switch is turned on the following 7 correct actions occur: (1) Barber's head moves, (2) Barber's left hand moves comb back and forth, (3) Barber's right hand uses the scissors, ( they open and close realistically! ), (4) Baby Bear leans forward, (5) Baby Bear tu...rns his head to look in mirror, (6) Baby Bear waves his arms and legs back and forth showing pleasure at his new haircut, (7) Baby Bear makes squeaking sounds of approval. Process is repeated. Very neat! An absolutely charming toy. This toy has been tested and works great. Battery compartment is mint as are the connections. This is a "MADE IN JAPAN" toy listed in Don Hultzman's book, COLLECTOR'S GUIDE TO BATTERY TOYS, copyright 2002, second edition. It is listed on page 26. It is a 1950's era toy made by the Linemar Co. and distributed by the T-N Nomura Co. It has a rarity of 5 on a scale to 10 being the rarest, and a value of $650.00 in C-10 condition without the box. This toy would make a very nice addition to any collector of toys. Too cute! Other 50's & 60's mint & mib battery op & wind-up toys listed in auction & my EBAY store.
