Item History & Price

Sportsways made some beautiful regulators in the early 1960s. Their 2 hose reg was called the Hydro Twin II and had advanced features like balanced breathing, venturi and HP port.Sportsways allowed other companies to sell their regulators under their own name so here we have a 'New England Divers' double hose regulator which is actually a Sportsways Hydro Twin II.
New England Divers was a ve...ry large scuba retailer based in Beverly, Massachusetts. It was founded by James Cahill, a consultant to Lloyd Bridges of Sea Hunt fame. You can read about New England Divers here: http://www.cg-45.com/regulators/New_England_Divers/index.shtml
This regulator is in excellent condition (60 years old!) with no major defects. The chrome is good with few serious scratches and only a small number of corrosion spots. The badge is excellent too.It would shine beautifully with a thorough cleaning and polishing. The mouthpiece is stiff but in decent shape. One hose is OK. The other has a broken end. New hoses are available and cheap. (vintagedoublehose.com or thescubamuseum.com).
This is a nice addition to any 2 hose collection - a Sportsways Hydro Twin II AND a New England Divers regulator, all in one!
