The cup is 5” high with a 3” diameter top and 2½” diameter base. The cup is excellent condition. The Golf Links of Americamedallion is on the side. The cup is monogrammed on the other side “NationalGolf Links of America Four Ball Tournament 1970”.The cup is marked “Tiffany & Co Makers Sterling Silver21439” on the bo...ttom. The order number dates to 1929-30 per Carpenter’s book.The cup weighs 6.15 troy ounces. It is not uncommon to see older pieces ofsterling ware repurposed as a trophy or gift many years after it was firstmade. This appears to be the case with this trophy.The National Golf Links of America is located inSouthampton, NY and is rated as one of the best 100 golf clubs in the US.Founded in 1908, it has a long, storied history of prominence and excellence.From their website: The National was founded in 1908 under theleadership of Charles B. Macdonald. The golf course wasconstructed with the assistance of Southampton engineer, SethRaynor. After studying many of the courses in Scotland and England, Mr.Macdonald set out to build a first-class course in the United States whichwould incorporate many of the better qualities of golf courses in the BritishIsles. Among the famous holes represented at the National are the RoadHole and Eden from St. Andrews, Alps from Prestwick, Redan from North Berwickand Sahara from Sandwich.
