When Robert Edward Auctions (REA) recently sold the original 70 x 50" "Yer Out" baseball painting by Ransom Fletcher for nearly $50, 000 in its Spring 2016 auction, the respected auction company's thorough description of the piece made mention that the iconic image was also used by The Gerlach-Barklow Company, one of the nation's leading producers of art and advertising calendars from from 1907 to 1971), in other advertising pieces as well, "the most novel of which was a jigsaw puzzle...." We have searched and searched and searched again, but we have been unable to locate another example of that referenced puzzle except for the delightful piece featured here, which we are pleased to offer with its original packaging envelope, as indisputable evidence of its provenance. The puzzle features Christy Mathewson, Honus Wagner, Chief Meyers, and Umpire Bill Klem. It measures 9 x 7 inches and is in surprisingly pleasant shape for its 100+ years of age. The puzzle is completei , and the condition of the complete puzzle is approximately Excellent or better overall. A unique and potentially one-of-a-kind addition to any Pre-War collection, the presented puzzle may not display as prominently as the original 6 x 4-foot canvas, but its novelty is just as engaging as its potential scarcity, and we are pleased to offer it with our sincerest of recommendations
