Vintage 1975 Gibson Flying V, natural finish, very clean vintage piece.
We all know what an iconic guitar the Flying V is and its illustrious history and fanciful stories about the really early ones. The 1975 Flying V is generally regarded as the second reissue (or 3rd issue) of this classic guitar with the '58s first, and then the '67s. (The Medallions from the early '70s saw only limited production.)
This one plays great with low, fast action. The frets have a good bit of wear.... It doesn't appear that it has had a refret. It does play nice though.
This example shows the usual play wear, dings and scratches you would expect for an instrument this old, but this guitar has no breaks, cracks or repairs.
The finish is the standard natural mahogany, beautiful wood grain (dings notwithstanding) and the finish still has some luster.The neck pickup is patent number stamped and the bridge pu is a patent number sticker. I can't say if they are original to this guitar or not but I have seen other '75 V's with the same configuration.The original tuners have been replaced with Schallers. I have original Gibson tuners (minus screws and bushings) that are correct for this guitar that I got on ebay years ago with the intent of installing on this guitar. I would be happy to discuss including them with the winner of the auction.
I also have original witch hat knobs also from ebay and I will be glad to discuss that too but the winner needs to tell me you want these items (tuners and knobs) or they will not be included.I have intentionally obscured the last two digits of the serial number in a photo editor but the number checks out to be a 1975 and can easily be verified on the internet or with various Gibson books. It is a 6 digit number.It comes with a Gibson hardshell case that is appropriate for the era.More photos here:
