Antique Chinese Wood Carved CalligraphyPrinting Block; Up forsale is the wood printing block with hand carved calligraphy on both sides, dated late 19th century. The calligraphywas excerpted from 黃自元 (1836-1916), a distinguishedcalligrapher in the late Qing Dynasty. Both sides displayed his calligraphypractices and seals following the artwork of two masters in the Tang Dynasty, namely the “九成宫醴泉銘” and “道因法師碑”. The hardwood carving to be inked an...d printed incredibly shows the detailed strokes of the Chinese characters inwriting. The wood block was previouslyexhibited but recently released by PeabodyEssex Museum in Peabody, Massachusetts. Theoriginal serial numbers from the Museum are still maintained as shown in thelast two photos. Measures: 11 ¼”long x 8” wide x 1” thick. Condition: Excellent with no obvious damages orrepairs.Shipment: Our items can be shipped worldwide.
