Vintage C1915 " Imperial Model B " Typewriter

This "Imperial Model B" typewriter was manufactured by the "Imperial Typewriter Company", this was founded by Hidalgo Moya. After first building the Moya typewriter, he set up the Imperial Typewriter Company in Leicester, England in 1908, the company ceased manufacturing typewriters in 1974.All of the original keys are present and the letters, numbers etc are still clear and legible, although, there is staining to some. The type bars move when the keys are depressed firmly and strike ...the platen.The carriage moves along as it should when typing, and returns smoothlyThe machine has both its' ribbon holders and a ribbon.It has retained much of its' original black paint work, however, there are missing patches of paint to the paper table, as well as the usual scuffs, scratches and marks you would associate with a well used item of this age.The chrome and metalwork has much of its' original finish, however, there some blemishes and a little surface tarnishing and rust in places.The gilt lettering has faded to the top curved bar and the front. The lettering to the paper table front has some chips and fading, as do the patent dates on the back.I have tried to show the condition in the photographs.The typewriter has the serial number 27177.This machine require some TLC to bring it back to its' full glory.
