For the Fabric book album cover, I used a beautifully embroidered dresser scarf (45"W X 18"L) found at the 127 yard sale here in Tn. last year. Filled with embroidery skills of yesteryear, I didn't have the heart to cut it. After washing, I decorated the center with a vintage oval crocheted doily & added 1/...2" lace around the black embroidered swirl. Hand made ombre ribbon flowers & leaves embellish the center as well as pink & white pearls, seed beads & ribbon applique on each end. The entire dresser scarf shows the original green variegated crocheted loops all around to which I added antique trim & more lace. The opposite side base is layered with muslin, quilt batting, olive green canvas and topped with a long linen doily. To the left is a multi-colored ribbon & delicate antique mesh tassel followed by a fabric image of 1900's silent film actress Maude Fealy, embroidered & enhanced with more antique lace trim. The pocket to her right measures 4 1/2 X 6 1/4". Next, the 10 X 6" linen doily is divided into 3 separate pockets, ending with a 1 1/2" long cameo and floral applique. The fabric book lies separately within the protective cover, measuring 15"L X 12" W having 8 fabric pages and 11 more pockets that feature embroidered images, doilies, a vintage passermierre ribbon piece, french seam binding, floral antique cigarette silks and more. Please see pics and contact me for pocket sizes. The cover folds over the book and is secured with a round antique yellow stone button and french seam binding closure (see photos). Photos unfortunately do not have the same value of being able to actually see, feel and touch and even yes, smell - such a nostalgic book. Try to imagine using it to hold your special treasures or as a gift for a loved one who appreciates beautiful antique lace.
