Original Description:
A scarcebank called ?Clown with a Crooked Hat? is rarely seen outside ofcollections. In Moore?sbook, revised 1997 edition, page 73, top left picture; this guy is a E. Heightis 6 ¾ inches: 2 ¼ inch at his widest. There are no breaks or cracks though thereis a tiny chip off the tip of his left shoe and a smaller chip off the back ofthe same shoe( see Pic). An identical one sold on ebay a few years ago and theseller attributed the maker to the OBER MFG. CO. of CHAGRIN FALLS, OHIO circa ...1905.The interior is a much brighter gold, which looks like gold leafing. On theoutside there are only scattered flecks of this bright gold: on his pantcuffs, the front and back of his hat, and a bit on the plant leaf he isholding. I think the darker gold on most of the body seems to be an under coat forthe brighter gold. One reference called this brighter gold "Bronze Gold". Very good condition for his age and he has much more paint than the clown bank in Moore's book..
