Thisis a Victorian Mr Punch perpetual gas bar lighter. Depicted holding aquill in one hand and inkwell in the other, the figure stands justover 21cm when in place on the purpose built wooden plinth. The baseof the plinth measures just under 12cm each side, and has a recessinside to accommodate the original gas pipe. Obviously untested, andthere is a second hole in the cigar for gar though this looks like acasting flaw.
