Presented is a fine antique, coin silver communion cup dating to just before or in 1850, made by Wood & Hughes of New York. This churchware piece is hand-hammered with a brightly polished exterior and beaded rim.

The underside of the cup, as you can view by looking through the base, bears the mark of the maker, Wood & Hughes, New York. The body of the cup is inscribed with the following: "Presented To the Amity St. Baptist Church 1850".
This piece is in good overall condition. Other than light surface wear, there is one small ding on the outside body and some tiny fleabites along the rim. The cup pedestal sits solidly on a flat surface.
The cup is about 7 3/8 inches tall, 3 1/2 inches diameter at the mouth, and weighs 241 grams.
