A fine quality Art Nouveau vesta by the Parisian silversmith Adolphe Frontin, circa 1900.
The silver niello case is of rectangular form with curved edges, and decorated with an attractive floral design.
The vesta measures approximately 52 x 32 x 12mm (2.0 x 1.25 x 0.5"). See images for detail, scale and condition.
The surface of the vesta is clean and smooth. Ribbed striker recessed in the underside.
Marked on the interior edge with the French boars head silver mar...k along with the maker's monogram (see photos).
In very good original condition, with a few marks from age and use. Sprung hinge is in good working order, lid closes evenly with a good snap.
