Vintage original real photo postcard. Notation reads "The President and is (sic) staff." I believe it is a photo of President Taft on the deck of a ship, with sailors standing by. Taft was president from 1909 - 1913, and during this time the Panama Canal was built. This photo is similar to others of Taft I found on the Library of Congress website, where he is inspecting the progress of the building of the canal, so I believe this is from that time and place.&nbs...p; But - I am not positive! This divided back postcard has no writing on the back, but does have the ink notations on the front. Slight wear to the corners, and some discoloration along the left hand side of the card.
