The 5BP4 was used in several prewar televisions. This is what Andrea used in the KTE-5 and the 1F5 introduced in 1939. GE used it in the HM-171 and HM-185 .... Also used by RCA TT-5 & TRK-5, Transvision, Meissner and others. This is a new in the box VT-111 / 5BP4 CRT with the military designation of VT-111 .. I'd assume it was used in the SCR-268 early RADAR system as well as the abortive TV guided bomb experiments. The "4" at the end of the tube type indicates that it is a black & whi...te TV [not a green Radar type] tube.The box is in terrible condition but it did its job of protecting the tube for all these years .... The tube is marked JAN-5BP4 VT-111 Ken Rad ... the box has the same markings on the label. The tube was tested by the TV collector I got it from and is sold as a NIB tube. I fully guarantee it to be a usable CRT. The original box will be overboxed and well padded for shipping .. Shipping weight will be 6 pounds from zip code 24012.
