Up for auction is a pair of Sioux Beaded Moccasins. They are on yellow beads with red cross designs on the front. There are some light blue, dark blue and red designs on the sides as well. Split tongues. Trade cloth and thread sewn around the perimeter. Thread sewn bottoms as well. Brain tanned leather. There is some bead loss on a couple places on the backs of the moccasins. They measure 10-3/4" long overall. They are 4-1/2" wide by 3-1/2" tall. This piece is out of the Lutheran... Reverend Ernest Von Kronwitter that was from Germany but was doing Missionary work in the Dakotas and other Indian Reservations in the early 1900's He collected these items and took them back to Germany before World War 1 broke out.
