Up for auction is a Sioux Chiefs 19th Century Beaded Necklace that has bird leg bones in 3 layers on it. It has 18 bird leg bones with red beads in between. It is 32" long overall. It has 6 copper rolled beads at the bottom of it as the center piece. The bone beads will average 4-1/4" long. It has brain tanned leather seperating. It is hard to find a strand like this all in one piece. A very nice necklace. This piece is out of the Lutheran Reverend Ernest Von Kronwitter that was ...from Germany but was doing Missionary work in the Dakotas and other Indian Reservations in the early 1900's He collected these items and took them back to Germany before World War 1 broke out.
