Fabulous vintage composition FatherChristmas complete with his faux fur reindeer and sleigh. Dating 1945to 1952. The very unusual sleigh is made of rattan or wicker and wood. It is stamped MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY on the base. Thereindeer rattles a bit, it sounds like there is something inside. If it is candy I cannot figure out how it got in there. This deerappears to be the “short antlers” version. The white color on thetips is original (not wear) and probably meant to indicate sn...ow. Both Santa Claus and his reindeer have their original green and goldpaper stickers “Made in US Zone Germany”. Santa's sticker felloff during his photography session but it will be included in thissale. Also included are some small light paper present packages, probably not original to the piece but nice to add to the display. This piece looks very much like the FAO Schwarz toy store Xmasdecoration. Excellent addition to a Belsnickel or antique Christmas( Weihnachten ) display!SIZE: sleigh measures approx. 9.75(25cm) long. Reindeer measures approx. 6.5” (17cm) long and Santameasures approx. 5.75” (17 cm) tallCONDITION: Excellent vintage / antiquecondition! The only sign of wear found is some chipping to the fronthooves and one rear hoof of the reindeer. Perhaps the reins wereoriginally fixed in Santa's hand, they are loose now.
