Very rare letterhead from the office of the Maginnis Mining Company at Maiden, Montana in 1888 in the Judith Mountains of central Montana. It appears the letter may be signed by Granville Stuart....a who is who of Montana history...but I cannot verify as there is a name below the signature of Stuart as well...if this is Stuart's signature it is much more valuable but still has very good value being the Maginnis Mine and the date of 1888. I find the notation on the letter......likely entered by Holter Hardware in Great Falls or Helena...that notes "packed with fuse"...as an interesting reminder of the dangers of hardrock mining.
