Vintage Hamlin Musicmaster Turntable
Item History & Price
Vintage Hamlin Musicmaster Turntable
Hamlin was a Seattle high-end audio store that relabeled Japanese audio products under its own name. This item is a Musicmaster turntable probably from the late 50s. The Musicmaster name is on the mat under the strobe disc. I am not sure what model the tonearm is (I could find no marks), but it resembles ones made by Fairchild. The cartridge is a Pickering P/AC-1. Cartridge plays fine.
The turntable is in excellent working condition. Runs very... smoothly. The idler wheel has no flat spots. Wood base is in very good condition with just a couple of very minor scratches. I noted one scratch on the plinth. The rubber turntable mat was very dirty and I attempted to clean it but caused the blue discoloring you see in my photos. The mat has hardened and you will probably want to replace it. Overall dimensions: 20" x 16".
