This is either a Model C or Model H Edison Home Phonograph.The Reproducer says Model C. The Serial Number is H146833. I saw another like it and they list it asModel A. If you’re looking at this, you probably know what it is. Last patent date on it is November 1903.Other than dusting it and wiping it down, I haven’t tried torestore anything. I’ve heard that people who don’t know what they’re doing willdo more damage than help on something like this.I believe it is ...complete except for the belt, but I reallydon’t know anything out these phonographs. The mechanism appears to run fine. Thecrank winds the spring and nothing slips. The motor runs and the speedadjustment works. I’ve included a pic while the motor was running – blurry weightsshow that it’s running. If I spin the top part by hand, I can hear therecording, but really can’t make anything out of it.There is a “record” cylinder included. As best I can make itout, it says “Altophone Mr. Cooley Medley 8366. End is slightly chipped, butnot where the recording groves are.There is also an antique can of oil that goes with it: “EurekaNoiseless Talking Machine Lubricant”.There was also another part in the lower case where thehandle and oil were stored. I’m not sure it has anything to do with the unit, but it is included.Sold AS-IS.
