This is the story of how the old sock of a giant helped reunite a father with his little boy. This Holy Nerd Relic is the Sacred Sock of Chewbacca himself. It was given to me by one of the greatest and most generous human beings I have ever met, a literal giant with an enormous golden heart, the actor who played Chewbacca in the Star Wars films, the late, great Peter Mayhew. I am the co-founder of the most remarkable Sci-Fi parade in the Multi-verse, the Intergalactic Krewe of Che...wbacchus in New Orleans, Louisiana. Chewbacchus began as a joke, exploded into a Mardi Gras phenomenon and jumped the shark to become a full-tilt pop culture parody religion. Peter Mayhew and his lovely wife Angie served as King and Queen of the parade (twice) and were generous enough to honor my absurd request for a sock and a lock of Peter’s hair that I placed in a display case and we revered as the ultimate sacred relic of the self-declared Cult of the Sacred Drunken Wookiee. I am currently engaged in a heartrending custody battle and am auctioning this Sacred Sock to pay for the legal fees in a fight for the right to see my only son and remain a meaningful part of his life. This sock is a priceless relic from the Golden Age of Chewbacchus and is one of my most prized possessions. It is my sincere hope that it goes to a true fan of the great man himself, a collector who will treasure it and give it a new home. Ad Astra Per Aspera, Ryan S. There is a great shot from the very first time we met them at a local Con and told Peter and Angie about our ferociously weird Sci Fi parade. And I dug up another photo of the time we appeared with the Mayhew's on News with a Twist here in New Orleans with a Zombie Brass Band.
