Description:
Actually the 1630 Amsterdam printing, which has been attributed with the “1599 London England” dates, title pages and known as “The Pirated Geneva Bible”. It is typeset in "Roman." Believed to be the original leather cover, still intact but worn, especially on the spine edges. The pages I believe to be complete, although lightly yellowed I ...see minimal if any foxing. Inscribed in the front on the fly page which has a tear is written "S. Davies, With Good Wishes" (possibly Rev. Samuel Davies of Princeton fame). Some chipping on the edges of the first few pages. It contains the Old Testament(1599), New Testament(1599), Table of the Interpretation of the proper names...(1599), Book of Psalmes, Collected into English Meeter, by Thomas Sternold, John Hopkins....(1599) and some prayers with 4 pages that belong but missed being stitched in. Overall an excellent example of a very early protestant Bible with a very reasonable starting price. No reserve.
