This is Paul Butler’s original “Artist Proof” AP glass etching music box that was crested in collaboration with Reuge of Switzerland and presented to the Disney executive team including Michael Eisner (CEO of The Walt Disney from 1984 to 2005) ...to gain production approval to create 4 limited editions of the “Little Mermaid” and “Cinderella” music boxes numbering anywhere from 100-250 in each of 4 series released for sale!
Created in the signature style Paul Butler rendered scenes of two of Disney’s most beloved animated films... Cinderella and “The Little Mermaid” into crystal Reuge music boxes. The music boxes came in 2 different sizes: most were 5 1/2 in. L x 4 in. W x 2 1/2 H and to a lesser degree in this size 8” L x 4 3/4 W x 3”.All played beautiful tunes from the films of “Cinderella” and “The Little Mermaid “.
However, this exquisite “Cinderella” music box being offered in this listing...differs from the other music boxes that went into production in the following ways...
1. It’s the only one of its kind! it is an AP “Artist Proof” creation...it’s the only AP created!
2. This is the original music box presented to the Disney executive team that convinced them to go into limited edition production!

I am the artist of the 4 editions of etched glass music boxes working with Reuge.
The Walt Disney Company had directed Reuge to work with me in the creation of the 4 different editions out of glass.
I was one of only 8 other independent artists worldwide that were authorized to sign our Disney art work creations in various different mediums as a directive from the head of The Walt Disney Company Mr. Michael Eisner.
The box presented to you is from my own personal collection. And it was the prototype that began the Reuge/Paul Butler collection.

This particular box is extremely rare in that sense as it is the original artist proof.

* THE MOVEMENT BY REUGE OF SWITZERLAND - REUGE celebrated their 150 years of service in 2015. They are the standard bearer and bench-mark for which all fine watches and music boxes are made.
* It’s Swiss Reuge movement plays 3 tunes 36 notes on each cylinder (1.36).
* This music box plays Elton John’s “The Lion King (Can you feel the love)... **** THIS IS SO UNIQUE because no other music box has this particular song!
* The music box has a control arm that allows the song to play once through & then stops, or plays continuously until it winds down.
* It Is the only one in existence and it is authenticated! With the signature of the artist and Disney authentication on the bottom of the music box!
It’s definitely an iconic collectable heirloom keepsake for that special someone that loves Cinderella or for that someone who loves unique “one of a kind” collectibles!
The Artist’s Background:Paul Butler was fortunate to gain a contract with Disney which allowed him to pick and choose from Walt Disney’s 1930’s archives caricatures of Mickey Mouse and Disney’s contemporary animated caricatures as well.
My brother, Paul Butler, in the late 1990’s completed a number of pieces for the Disney showcase Collection, presented by Walt Disney art classics (the art and collectibles division of the Disney company).
DISNEY beloved vintage and contemporary images were incorporated into a number of household items: dinnerware - bowls, cups, plates, and free standing art forms (like music boxes) that were showcased at Walt Disney stores from Los Ángeles to New York across the Atlantic to the cities of Europe during the late 90’s.
His artistic talent helped elevate Walt Disney merchandise to a museum quality level not found in any Disney items offered beforehand...
