Calibration spot checked against "bogey" tubes from Blueglow Electronics (checked within 1.6%, 2.4% and 6.8% using 12AT7, 6L6 and6AU6 bogey tubes, respectively ... no attempt to fine tune calibration for exact match to all bogeys).
All tube sockets except the two short-lead subminiature sockets were checked by testing at least one tube successfu...lly in each socket (including the acorn tube socket [type 954] and the long-lead subminiature socket adapter [type 5678]).
Includes all relevant manuals (of which I am aware) in PDF format on a USB flash drive.
All switches, pots / rheostats and pushbuttons work smoothly, and appear to be functioning properly, though I have not exhaustively checked every possible operating position and combination.
Cosmetic condition is typical ex-military: some paint loss, scrapes, case dings, etc. (see photo).
In addition to the description above, I am aware of the following issues: There is no carrying handle attached to the case, though the brackets for the handle are securely attached. The recessed rubber sealing gasket around the perimeter of the lid is badly deteriorated (hardened & cracked), though the channel is in good condition to accept a new gasket if you care to replace it. The two specialized tube adapters (for types 2C39, 3E29, 829-B, etc.) are missing along with the brackets for securing them. One of the two leads for connecting to tube top caps (the black one) is missing. The red one, which is included, is a modern reproduction, not the original. As the two leads are interchangeable, there should be no problem, except for testing those very few tubes with more than one cap.The bracket for winding up the power cord in the lid is missing.
The pin straighteners for 7 and 9-pin miniature tubes is an after-market Hytron double-sided "hockey puck" type, not the original. The 7-pin miniature tube socket is quite worn, though I had no problems using it. Just to be sure, I am including a Vector octal-to-7-pin mini adapter (I couldn't find a "socket saver" to install in the 7-pin mini socket). The meter mechanical zero is very slightly off (maybe 1/3 of one minor scale division high ... see photo). The Tube Testing Data booklet is in poor condition. There is a much better copy among the included PDF files, plus a copy of Nolan "Redneck" Lee's well-regarded Excel file. This particular tester seems to require more warm-up time than most, especially in my somewhat damp basement shop. If you just flip it on and immediately go about testing tubes, you will likely see false indications of SHORTS and GAS. After 10 minutes or so, the false SHORTS go away, but the GAS reading may need as much as a half hour to fully stabilize. The Gm readings seem to be pretty much right on almost immediately.
