Extremely Rare NOS 1915 De Forest Spherical Double Wing Audion

Over the next couple weeks I will be selling the last of my radio collection. I also have power supplies for use with early radios, period speakers, extra vacuum tubes, and a tube tester which I will be selling toward the end of the sale, so please check my other auctions from time to time. This is a working, original 1915 new old stock, never used, De Forest spherical double wing audion, one of the first production vacuum tubes ever manufactured, ...by the man who invented them. It is unused and undamaged except for the expected drying and cracking of the wire insulation on this 104 year old piece of very early radio equipment. There is no darkening of the glass. Both filaments are intact and it still has its original tags. It also comes in its original box in wonderful condition except for missing one end flap. I will also include the socket that is shown in the photos. It is a must have addition to any serious collection of antique tubes or tube radios, and doesn't get any better than this example. As usual, no reserve, but I will end the auction early if I don't feel that the tube will sell close to its actual value.
