Original Description:
This Authentic vintage glass fishing float was found on Hokkaido Island of Northern Japan. This float is a RARE TOHUKO MOLD-LINE ROLLER. The Float features a distinct prominent longitudinal mold line that extends right around the roller including the ears. The line is very pronounced and even extends at one end to extra glass that came from the mold itself. (See last photo) The roller measures 5.25" long x 1.5" wide. No chips or cracks except to seal button as you would exp...ect in a vintage float. No Makers Mark.
I always photograph the floats against white in an attempt to get a clear picture and true a colour as possible. Please view the floats against a white background and determine for yourself if the colour that is represented here is true. If you are ever not happy with a float please let me know. Our Japanese hand made fishing floats were made and used by fishermen from Hokkaido Island of northern Japan and considered by collectors to be ‘real’ and authentic.. In Japan Glass fishing floats are being replaced by plastic and polystyrene making authentic glass fishing floats highly collectible.
