For auction here is this absolutely superb Chamberlain Worcester inkstand, with an inkwell / pen stand (with metal liner to the centre well), a taper sick and a lidded pot. This rare antique set dates from around ...1840 and is decorated with the finest quality applied, encrusted flowers to all pieces. It is also beautifully hand-painted with roses, peonies and other flowers. The pots also have lovely flower finials and the set is further enhanced with fine gilding. The stand is hand-inscribed "Chamberlain & Co., Worcester" to the base. The underside of one lid is also inscribed in red.The stand measures approximately 11 1/2 inches by 6 3/4 inches. Both pots are in very good condition, with a very small chip to the underside of one lid (not seen). The taper stick appears to have had a little restoration to the rim, but it's hard to be sure. One end of the stand has been broken and repaired at some point in the past. It is really not too noticeable from the front, because of the position near the handle and beneath the applied flowers and foliage. For your information, I've added a photo of the underside of this area. There are some very small losses to the applied flowers and foliage, but they are generally in much better condition than normal. Please view all photos for details, as these form part of the description. UK POSTAGE: All shipping is via some form of Registered Post. All items are securely packed.
