An original hand colored engraving which was an illustration to "Sammlung Verschiedener Auslandisher und Seltener Vogel" , the German edition of George Edwards' "A Natural History of Uncommon Birds" published in Nuremberg in 1749. The engravings were executed by Johann Michael Seligmann - see below
This is Plate VII illustrating the "Falco niger, Americanus" 
Good condition printed on hand-laid paper with watermark
