Made by the Hamburg American Clock Company just after the turn of the last century, this little clock won't dominate your home, but will add that perfect finishing touch.The case is of oak that has gained a wonderful patina and colour. Set against this darker cinder toffee background, the ivory coloured dial really stands out. To the trunk is a glazed access door which allows access to the pendulum and also allows sight as it swings gently back and forth.The clock has a 14 day key wou...nd movement which is stamped with the famous "crossed arrows" of this renowned company. The dial and the rear of the clock also bares their maker's mark, along with a partial original operating label (very aged and partly missing). HAC were a Black Forest clock making company that found their start in the third quarter of the 1800s, before being swallowed up by the Junghans company in the 1930s.The clock measures just 11 inches in length, with a dial surround width of 7 1/2 inches.
