DESCRIPTION:
A George Carwardine design industrial 1209 Anglepoise lamp, made by Herbert Terry, Reddich. This example designed by Carwardine and licenced to Herbert Terry in their Reddich factory. Cardarwine designed and patented the early anglepoise lamps for industrial purposes. This particular lamps base has been configured to fit onto a metal lathe. This has recently been salvaged from a 1930's lathe that was used up until recently. The whole machine shop was used as a WW2 m...unitions factory. The early 'Anglepoise' lamps were sold to particular engineering and manufacturers companies of the time. They were licenced to Herbert Terry to make and later designs were sold for the home market. This lamp base configuration part is an EDL with possibly a EDL green enamel shade, that has been over painted. This combination of parts, inc the early 1209 arms was made up in Herbert Terry's work shop. It is a rare form to find.the lamp will need a larger base added to make it stable and rewired possibly.. would make a great floor standing or coffee table lamp. Condition: Is all original however, a spring is missing and no plug.. inc authentic surface wear and tear. (PLEASE ALSO USE PICTURES AS A CONDITION GUIDE)
