Rare 1920s Art Deco “Master In Color” Bakelite Cocktail Shaker w Recipes in Top This is a rare and remarkable vintage cocktail shaker that we date to the 1920-30s jazz era and is classic art deco in its design and appeal. The body material is a very thick walled and heavy blended black and brown Bakelite; they form a barely discernible spiral around the casing. It has bright nickel plated fittings. At the top there is a unique rotating collar with a window cut out. When turned a r...ecipe of a famous drink appears. Many are unique to the era and some old favourites are still being enjoyed today; the cocktails included are:“Bronx”“Clover Club”“Dry Martini”Tom Collins”“Manhattan”“Orange Blossom”“Side Car”“Whisky Sour” It is a large cocktail shaker that functions in the conventional way. The top cap is a measure with measure markers to the inner wall. Below this there is a spout with a cap. The top section unscrews at the shoulder; the base is filled with the prescribed measures of preferred booze and ice. The top is replaced, and the contents rigorously shaken. The mix is then poured from the spout with its cap removed. The base is understamped with the maker’s details:“The MasterIn ColorCocktail ShakerMade in England”In complete and in excellent vintage condition. A few fine craze lines to the main body and some small nicks on the screw thread where the two sections join; these do not detract, and it seals well.
