Up for bid is a beautiful R. Field & Son microscope from Birmingham, England with both monocular & binocular capability; The patina is rich with most of the lacquer still present; Coarse focusing is by rack and pinion, fine focus is by knurled knob on top of the brass limb. There is a plano/concave mirror with very little foxing, It comes in a mahogany case with many accessories included. The microscope has a x/y adjustable table. There is a drawer on the top right of the cabin...et with a tray. The drawer includes 8 blank & 2 specimen slides (no name). There is also a nose piece for objectives.
Accessories include:
1/4" objective, 1/2" objective, 1" objective, 2" objective, polarizer &; analyzer, monocular tube & binocular tube, matched set of eyepieces for binocular, set of eyepieces for monocular (labeled "A" & "B"), live box, stop disk that screws into bottom of table, bullseye condenser on stand.
The windham prism is in excellent condition. The case is missing lock & key.
Microscope is approximately 16 1/2" in height. Case is approximately 18" x 7 1/2" x 10 1/4".
