I had no idea what I was offering forsale, so I asked for help from The Great war Forum and below was what Igot. I’m very appreciative of the helpthey gave me in identifying this beautiful helmet. The helmet is in good conditionexcept for small dent that is covered up by the horse hair. This appears to bepretty much a one of a kind thing and would be great in any collection. Pleaselook my pictures over carefully and ask questions. Will look fantastic as a display piece polished... up ina glass cabinet!!!Condition is Used, with marks that reflects its age. These are not my words below. The shape of the crown indicates that itdates from the reign of the current Queen. Indeed, which was (is still) worn byboth, RHG and Blues & Royals.It’s an officers’ pattern helmet ofthe Royal Horse Guards (subsequently ‘Blues and Royals’, who retained the samehelmet). The ‘other ranks’ (US enlisted men’s) pattern is similar inappearance, but with plain gilt, rather than red enamel cross as itscentral feature.Reign of Queen Elizabeth II who came to the throne in 1953.Buckingham Palace in central London is the official residence of the Queenalthough she has many country estates.
