Please read "Condition Description" above..... Gorgeous, hard-to-find textile!  Another velvet which must be in hand to fully appreciate its uniqueness and beauty.

Salvaged from a child's bodice of the 19th century.  It is very difficult to find this type of fabric.  It is a fine, thin (but with substance) smooth, tightly woven silk, cotton velveteen with a cotton base.  It is a rich shade of midnight/navy blue with teeny tiny embossed silver dotted swirl mot...ifs....very delicate.  Loveliest velvet ever and a must for the collector of early velvet.  Wonderful for doll costumers.  

This measures approximately (partial bodice - not yardage)....I believe this may possibly be French in origin, but not absolutely certain.  Exquisite, quality textile.....a tiny dotted swirl is about 5/16" in diameter.  

It is being sold "AS IS"...
