Item: Vintage Iron MermaidDescription: For Sale is a Vintage Cast Iron Mermaid shaped in order to sit on a Ledge/Stairs. When I first found this item I was positive it was a true antique. It wasn't until I got home that I learned it is no more than 50 Years Old because I found a Philipps screw (Last Photo). True antique cast iron pieces don't have that. But, because this one is nicely authentically aged/weathered it really had me fooled. ...I've learned there are a few different sizes of this mermaid. This is the Largest at 19" Long. I am sure my photos will best further describe this item. Condition: On a scale of 1 - 10 (Ten being New in Package Only), I can confidentlygrade this item's condition to be a solid 8.5. Overall and Especially for being 35+ Years Old, this Vintage Decorative Mermaid is in EXCELLENT Condition. I am by NO Means holding its natural weathered patina against it because it is exactly how most of us who appreciate such items would want it. I am sure when it was made it already had a partially "faux" aged effect but this one has also sat outside for decades and aged naturally as well. There is NOTHING Corroded or Rotted out on it and it is just as strong as the day it was made with ZERO Cracks/Chips or threatening damage. It is No Less than 85% Immaculate. I don't clean off natural patina on my items but I do clean off dust, dirt and cobwebs and this one no longer has that type of dirt. My photos are anaccurate depiction of this item's TRUECondition.
