Here we have an antique cast iron embossed fire place surround. This piece was found in an historical home in Freehold New Jersey. We estimate the age to be over 120 years old. This front fire surround is constructed with individual panels of cast iron making this construction unique and very strong. This piece has cast iron embossed designs on all 3 sides. The theme is land, air, and sea. You can see cherubs, dolphin like creatures and north wind faces. T...he rest is comprised of beautiful scroll work including bows, leaves, flowers and fruit. The work is simply beautiful and very detailed with its antique patina. This piece is meant for the front of your fire box, but can be applied to the inside if the measurements work for you. This is being sold in its original condition ready for your choice of touch up. We suggest leaving it in its natural state. Outer measurements are: 48" wide and 35 5/8" tall.
