I AM ALSO LISTING OTHER ASSUITS, SO PLEASE LOOK AT THEM AS WELL.A striking Antique Egyptian black and silver Assuit shawl with a great pattern of stars.It is wider than usual measuring 36 inches wide (91.5 cm) and 89 inches long (226 cm).It is hand embroidered in silver metal thread and then hammered or rollered to ...flatten the threads.CONDITION.There are no holes, tears or tarnish. At one end, right on the edge there are some repairs. I have put red crosses next to them. There is some slight colour variation, which I only noticed when I laid it flat to measure it.It is not entirely black throughout but seems to have very slightly faded over the years.Although it is an Antique textile, I am still mentioning this for accuracy. I don’t think this will be noticeable when worn and if you look at the photos you will see it is not visible.I know that if it was soaked in black fabric dye it could be made jet black but I will leave that decision to the buyer.
