Up for auction is a nice old vintage late 1800/early 1900s "Ruggeri" 2 pc. back full size violin for restoration. The nicely figured 2 pc curly maple back measures 14 1/8 by 7 7/8 inches. There are no bassbar or soundpost cracks on the violin and the neck is solid. The scroll and the pegbox are in good condition. There is a scratch on the bass side A peghole (please check pics). The pegs turn smoothly and the fingerboard has some slight wear. The soundpost is standing inside the violin... and there are no open seams. The violin is labelled as "Francelio Ruggeri dett il Per in Cremona l'anno 16??". The violin is for restoration. The violin has age related scratches/wearmarks on the varnish (please check pics). The violin will need new strings. Please check pics. and email questions. More pics. available upon request. This nice old vintage violin will need restoration to become playable.
