A wonderful old South Sumatran Keris, displaying Palembang influence. The straight blade is gonjo iras, with the gonjo forged as one with the blade, and defined by an incised line, pamor (forged blade pattern) is wos wutah (scattered rice grains), and the sepuhan is clearly evidenced. The sheath shows Palembang influence, and the gandar carries bands and a segmented pendok of mamas silver embossed with foliage. The hilt is the Palembang wayang form, well carved, and with an emboss...ed silver selut/collar . There is evidence of an old repair to the hilt where it joins the selut (see the images) and some dints around the selut. Blade length is 14¼", overall length is 18". The keris comes with a hand made material cover for storage.This is a complete and original old keris, in excellent original condition, with good patina and with clear evidence of age.
